Bachelor of Design with Honours
Ako Script is a digital cursive typeface designed to assist the teaching and learning of early literacy skills. It explores how typographic design can build confidence in dyslexic students to facilitate their continued engagement in New Zealand’s literacy curriculum. It blends accessible design standards set by the British Dyslexia Association, Cursive Therapy Guidelines and the existing print writing standard set by the Ministry of Education to tailor cursive writing education to an increasingly digital classroom.
