It is now becoming common for girls to get their first period around the age of 9-10, thought to be due to environmental and nutritional factors. ‘Oh Hey!’ is a support system that consists of a diary and Chabot, which is a computer program designed to simulate conversation, enabling girls to talk to their period. ‘Oh Hey!’ is a safe space for 9-10-year-old girls, after they have gotten their period that facilitates a conversation around the topic in a light and playful approach so they feel confident, connected and supported through the journey.
