Hireth is a Cornish word that describes the feeling of longing for one’s own homeland. My work draws on the relationship between memory, loss and the need to seek comfort through the process of knitting and the creation of garments. Longing and nostalgia are narrative threads throughout.
My installations examine thoughts, emotions and perceptions through the rhythm and repetition of knitting.
