Macky (Macaulay) Rogers

My practice explores the shame and negative emotions I felt towards my culture growing up. Each of my engravings is based off a self-portrait. Brown lines is a series of work exposing the journey of accepting my heritage and not letting negative judgments affect how I view myself. These prints express my struggle of feeling ostracized from both my Māori and Pākehā heritage.
