Bachelor of Design with Honours
My design aim is to exemplify a new hyper-industrialized fashion maximizing my imagination of the near future surrounded by artificial aesthetics - exploring futuristic design elements fused with wearable garments. The collection shows conceptualized humanoid (human-like robot) outfits with abstract composition; sculptured outer-shells, layered metallic bodysuits styling with the glass-looking acrylic pieces. Cutting and engraved lines are initially designed using Illustrator and done by laser cut. These details are hand-stitched onto both the draped round design at the back and the armholes of outer-shells. For design process, I have started with draping skill using PVC-based tubing inserted underneath the fabric and that creates eccentric garments silhouettes. The fabrics I have used; textured and metallic, are preferably selected in order to correspond with my strong design identity.
